There’s something magical about blending your own tea. It feels like a tiny ritual—calming, intentional, and just a little bit whimsical. Lately, I’ve been loving a homemade mix of dried lavender, rose petals, and peppermint. It’s floral, minty, and soothing all at once. Basically, it’s like self-care in a mug.
I started playing around with this combo after a long week of… well, everything. I wanted something that felt grounding but also gave me a tiny lift. Lavender helps with stress (and smells amazing), rose petals add that soft floral note and a touch of elegance, and peppermint keeps the whole thing feeling fresh and bright—not sleepy. It’s the kind of tea that helps you slow down, but still feel awake enough to journal, read, or just stare out the window in a peaceful daze.

To make it, I rinsed and patted dry some fresh organic rose petals, and dehydrated them in the oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. I bought organic dried peppermint leaves and organic dried French lavender. I mix equal parts of each herb—usually about a tablespoon of each if I’m making a small jar to keep on hand. I steep a teaspoon or so in hot water for about 5–7 minutes, strain, and sip. It’s great hot, but also surprisingly refreshing over ice with a bit of honey.

I also LOVE lavender coffee! I used some of the dried lavender to make a soothing lavender milk latte. I warmed some unsweetened vanilla almond milk with organic wildflower honey, a tiny bit of vanilla extract, and an unbleached tea pouch of dried lavender. I then removed the tea bag, quickly whisked the warmed milk to froth it, and gently poured it into my coffee. It had just the perfect level of lavender—fragrant, but not overpowering.
I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s simple, smells like a botanical dream, and makes for a sweet little gift in a jar if you’re feeling generous. Let me know if you try it—and definitely share your favorite blends too. I’m always looking for new tea inspiration.
